The Chariton Classic is in its 21st year, annually drawing riders from Central Iowa and beyond.  The Chariton Classic takes advantage of the paved secondary roads in Lucas and Wayne Counties to give riders a 60 mile tune-up one month before RAGBRAI.  Always scheduled the 3rd Saturday in June, this year the day will also be filled with activities with the Classic Old Fashioned Saturday.  See the Chariton Classic Page for complete details!

             Red Haw State Park

Red Haw State Park is beautifully set into the rolling hills of Southern Iowa with a calm atmosphere waiting for that hurried wanderer to camp for just a weekend...or even a week!  A trail around the lake provides a short route to all the beauty of the park.   Click HERE for a map of the Park and the trail.  Red Bud trees in late April are a gorgeous sight throughout the Park (see the picture above- 4/20/06)!
